Robert Milde is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Kentucky providing trauma-informed care for adults of every age and background. Robert began in mental health by volunteering with NAMI, working with families affected by severe mental illness. He made a career change from teacher to therapist, and worked at The Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, providing crisis mental health care and substance use treatment, before joining Viewpoint as an outpatient therapist.
Robert is comfortable helping clients work with trauma, anxiety, grief, mental illness, addiction, stress, depression, surviving abuse, and all the difficulties of life. He helps clients identify evidence-based tools and strategies to meet their goals, drawing from therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, |
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other modalities that engage in reprocessing and somatic work. He believes in working on cognitive, emotional, and physical levels as needed.
Robert earned his Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2022. In his previous career, he earned a Ph.D. in English and taught on the college level for nearly 30 years, 22 of them at Eastern Kentucky University. He combines his clinical training with life and teaching experiences that enhance his approach to evidence-based therapy.
