Dr. Sarah Schweitzer is a licensed clinical psychologist serving clients 18 and older. She specializes in relationship therapy (couples, parent-child dyads, siblings) to help clients and their loved ones navigate stress, adjustment, and conflict. She also provides individual therapy to help clients manage a wide range of presenting concerns including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, adjustment, and executive dysfunction (e.g., ADHD).
Dr. Schweitzer’s theoretical orientation is based in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) with concentration in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She conceptualizes clients and their presenting concerns within a developmental framework informed by clinical neuroscience, relational frame theory, and functional contextualism. When working within the relationship therapy modality, she also draws on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques and the Gottman Method. |
As a psychotherapist, she works to cultivate warm and authentic relationships with clients to provide consistent context within which they can strengthen their psychological flexibility and their adaptability to challenges and adversity.
Dr. Schweitzer earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University in 2022. She completed her predoctoral internship at Ohio University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, where she held an apprenticeship in couples therapy. Dr. Schweitzer joined Viewpoint in 2022 to complete her postdoctoral work. She earned independent licensure in 2023.
